About Connie Cats






Long Island-based, self-taught artist  Connie Oshrin creates decorative and functional works of art in her studio in Bridgehampton,  N.Y.  Hatboxes, stools, coffee-tables, and trunks are painted free hand with animals and backgrounds, then enhanced with hand-carved wood animals applied to create a raised  seemingly textured three-dimensional effect. Animals have always been a  favorite subject matter for Connie's art, especially the cats.

Connie enjoys the challenge of capturing the unique characteristics  of each subject, which in turn gives each piece it's own personality.  Each creation is a "one-of-a -kind piece of art".  While many are similar in general appearances, no two pieces are exactly alike. 

Connie's media is acrylic, because it combines most of the positive attributes and characteristics nbsp;of both oils and watercolors.  For this reason it is excellent source for her work on wood. 

Connie's work has been featured in such prestigious places as, the Hamptons Catalog, the Smithsonian National Zoo,  and the Cheetah Foundation,  Washington D.C. You can also find her every year at the Hampton Classic Horseshow in the Boutique Garden.  Her work has also been purchased and is on display at  Kensington Palace in London England.
